CloakNote is designed as a local-first note-taking application. The App does not require account creation, does not provide cloud sync as part of its current functionality, and does not transmit your note content to CloakNote-controlled servers during normal in-app use.

In general:

• your notes and app preferences are stored on your device;
• we do not use in-app advertising SDKs;
• we do not use in-app analytics or behavioral tracking SDKs in the App's current functionality;
• we do not sell your personal information; and
• we do not access or store your note content on our own servers through the App's current note-taking features.

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

• provide, maintain, and improve the App's functionality;
• store and present your notes locally on your device;
• apply and preserve your preferences locally on your device;
• respond to support requests, questions, and feedback;
• protect the security, integrity, and lawful operation of the App and related services;
• investigate abuse, fraud, unlawful conduct, or violations of our Terms;
• comply with legal obligations; and
• establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We do not use your note content for advertising, sale, or cross-context behavioral profiling.

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis for processing personal information that we control, we rely on one or more of the following:

• performance of our contract with you;
• our legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving the App and related services;
• your consent, where required; and
• compliance with legal obligations.

Because the App's core note content is stored locally on your device rather than on our servers, many core App functions are performed locally without server-side processing by us.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your note content through CloakNote-controlled servers as part of the App's current functionality.

We may share limited information that you voluntarily provide to us outside the App, such as support communications, in the following circumstances:

• with vendors or service providers that help us operate support, hosting, security, legal, or business administration functions, subject to appropriate obligations;
• when required by law, subpoena, court order, lawful request, or similar legal process;
• to protect the rights, property, safety, security, integrity, or lawful interests of CloakNote, our users, or others;
• to investigate fraud, abuse, unlawful conduct, or security incidents; or
• in connection with an actual or proposed merger, financing, acquisition, bankruptcy, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the information we control. However, no method of storage, transmission, or processing is completely secure.

The App is intended to help reduce visual exposure of note content in certain environments. It is not represented as a guaranteed secrecy, encryption, anti-surveillance, anti-forensics, or data-loss-prevention solution. The security of App data depends in part on:

• your device security settings;
• your operating system protections;
• whether device backups are enabled;
• the third-party platform services you use; and
• your physical control of your device.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable law regarding personal information that we control, which may include rights to access, correct, delete, object to certain processing, or request data portability.

Because the App's current note content is stored locally on your device rather than on our servers:

• you can access, edit, and delete notes directly within the App;
• you can remove local App data by deleting notes, clearing app data where supported, or uninstalling the App; and
• you can manage backup behavior through your device or platform settings.

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App's current functionality. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us through a support or other direct communication channel, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to review and address the matter.

If you contact us directly or use third-party services related to the App or website, your information may be processed in countries other than the country where you reside, subject to applicable law and the policies of the relevant third parties.

The App and website may link to or rely on third-party platforms and services, including the Apple App Store, Google Play, device operating systems, browsers, hosting providers, and speech or backup technologies. We are not responsible for the privacy, security, or content practices of those third parties.
