Summary
Cloaknote is designed around local-first note taking. Core use of the app does not require an account. Your note content is intended to remain on your device unless you choose to export, share, back up, or send information to us.
1. Information the app handles
The app stores note content, note titles or previews, and related settings on your device so the editor can function. Based on the current product behavior described on this site, Cloaknote does not require account registration or mandatory cloud sync for its core features.
- Real note content that you type into the editor.
- Simulated filler text used for the camouflage experience.
- Local settings such as reveal controls and editor preferences.
- Optional support emails or bug reports that you send to us.
2. How information is used
Local note data is used to provide editing, storage, reopening, and privacy-oriented UI behavior inside the app. Support emails are used only to answer questions, investigate bugs, and handle privacy or product requests.
We do not describe the app as selling personal information or note content. If a future version adds analytics, crash reporting, cloud sync, or other remote services, this policy and the associated store disclosures should be updated before that release goes live.
3. Sharing and third parties
We do not receive your note content by default simply because you use the app. If you use operating system features such as text-to-speech, device backup, or share/export tools, your platform provider or chosen destination may process data under its own terms and privacy policies.
The website at https://cloaknote.xyz is hosted publicly, so the hosting provider may process routine technical request data such as IP address, user agent, and timestamps to serve pages and protect service integrity.
4. Retention and deletion
Local notes remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or remove the app. If your device or operating system backs up app data automatically, copies may also exist in those backups under the policies of your platform provider.
Support messages are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, keep support records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Because Cloaknote does not currently rely on user accounts for its core features, there is no web account deletion flow at this time.
5. Security
Cloaknote is designed to reduce casual shoulder-surfing and exposed-screen risk. It is not a claim that the device itself is hardened against compromise. You remain responsible for device-level protections such as passcodes, encryption, backups, and physical access.
6. Children
Cloaknote is not intentionally designed to collect personal information from children through online accounts or remote tracking. If you believe you sent personal information to us directly by email in error, contact us and we will review the request.
7. Contact
Privacy questions, support requests, and disclosure inquiries can be sent to support@cloaknote.xyz.
